Madagascar diary

My Diary

Madagascar

Today is my first day in Madagascar and I am very excited to be here.
My work vacation lasts only two weeks, so I need to find as many places as I can.
The main reason why I came was that I'm working in Estonia where I have to landscape one of the most amazing projects that have ever made in Estonia.
The owner of the area has insisted that the new landscape must be similar to the real Madagascar. The only way to do this work was by asking him to arrange my trip to Madagascar and he made it!
So let's begin with my first day.  I'm kind of tired because the fight was very long and I arrived 01.00PM to my host but at the same time I'm happy to be here and can not wait to discover new places.
Today I'm not going for a very long trip because I would love to find what the cities have to offer for me. I'm staying in the main town Antananarivo and I'm already in love with this city.

Antananarivo, also known by its colonial shorthand form Tana, is the capital and largest city of Madagascar. Antananarivo was originally the site of a town called Analamanga, meaning "Blue Forest". The population of Antananarivo is about 1,6 million people.
It's a very historical city, so I'm Going to get to know the architectural side of Madagascar.
I'm staying here for 3 days and I'm not going to write much about this theme.

On my 4th day, I was going to stay at Anakao for also 3 days. It's a very beautiful place if You like to take a vacation in Madagascar. Anakao is divided into two parts. One has tourist accommodation, restaurants, and bars that give straight on to the beach, whilst the other part is a residential area, where houses creep inland close to the fields. A large number of canoes lined the beach, waiting to be taken out to sea, each one was as colorful as the next; a real picture postcard moment. The white sand and crystal clear sea created a myriad of glittering colors.

I'm staying here because one of my jobs was to discover breathtaking beaches and find good details to landscape one of the objects.
I found amazing things about that beach, so I think this is going to work very well in Estonia. I don't know where I can find so gorgeous and shining sand in Estonia.

My next trip was to find as many wonderful plants and trees as I can but they must be quite similar to Estonian ones because it is banned to transport anything out from Madagascar. It's illegal to take some plants with you from Madagascar. That is why my job is more difficult now. If I find something good, maybe we have some plants in Estonia that are possible to design or modify as close as local plants.

After seeing many wonderful plants i have decided what I can use in Estonia. I will just but some pictures to show what found.

They are so beautiful and I think we already have quite similar plants.
The trees are so stunning here and I'm a little bit sad because in Estonia we have alike trees but really small compared to local ones.

Now it is my7th day at Madagascar, that means I have only one more week to go.
I thought I should take one day off and tell some facts about Madagascar.
So let's begin. First things first.
Area of Madagascar is 587,040 km² and the capital city is Antananarivo where I was at the beginning of my journey. A country population is 22,000,000 and languages are
French & Malagasy. The primary language spoken in Madagascar is Malagasy followed by French. English is not spoken outside of major hotels and tourist attractions.

Popular foods and drinks :

Foza sy hena-kisoa: this dish consists of stir-fried pork and crab served with rice.
Ramazava: this dish is made up of leaves, herbs, and pieces of beef and pork cooked in oil until browned.
Vary amid’anana: this dish includes rice, leaves or herbs, meat and sometimes shrimp.

Most roadside stalls and stores will sell bottled water and Coca Cola. A popular local drink is ranonapango which is burned rice water.

Madagascar offers a tropical/subtropical climate with two seasons, summer from November to April and winter from May to October.  Summer is extremely hot and rainy in Madagascar with January to March experiencing particularly heavy rainfall and there is a risk of storms and cyclones to the east and north.  The winter months are very pleasant and offer cooler temperatures and much less rain. The best months to travel to Madagascar are April, October, and November.

So that was a few facts about Madagascar and now its time to do some work again.
On my 8th day in here, I thought I have to find some architectural places to collect inspiration.

I was driving around and I questioned the local people. The most popular place they suggested to go was Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park and it was awesome.

I'm sure I can use this kind of theme in my work and already imagine how great it would look like.

My mind is blown away how wonderful everything looks in here. I hope I can use all of my ideas to combine and make something unique.

To find all those amazing places took me almost 5 days and I think I have seen enough to go home a few days earlier. I called my boss and he agreed with me after seeing all my plans what I have already.
I very pleased to have this kind of opportunity and I met so many beautiful people.
Now it's time to go home and start to work on my goals.

It was only in 1896. he continued his studies first at the parish school, but after a couple of years already, Hugo Treffner Gymnasium in Tartu.

In this, he was examined by a pessimistic POV work and love of the Estonian village of society. These topics, he turned back several more times.

In in 1935. Appeared in the novel: "I loved the Germans' is The Island of Oak Estonian and Baltic German student girl love story. The novel highly deviated from the Prevailing Conditions at the time the Silent Era of social norms, Attracting a lively response in terms of topic selection: a Baltic-German characters, Especially in a positive way, do not come across very often in the then English Novels. Oak Island was typically Carried Out in society at the time the allegations Became critical and the appearance of Estonians in worse and more pessimistic than They really are.

Mulle meeldivad filmid väga, eriti eesti filmid!
Alles filmi lõpus sain ma Nipernaadi tegutsemisele pihta.
(on alles naistemees :D)

Underi emal oli 6 last ja tal endal 2 last.
